For your information, there will be a total of 4 tutorial classes planned for the whole semester. The scheduled dates are as followed:

4)      13 Feb 04 (Fri) (Friday) from 5 – 5.50 pm

I would like to maintain an email list comprise of all the tutors involved. Could you please kindly send me one email (to tlyoon@usm.my) so that I could put you in the mailing list for communication purpose.

Please be noticed that all the course materials, including lecture notes (under “Lecture notes”), tutorial questions and solutions (under “Assignments”) are downloadable on the internet at http://www.fizik.usm.my/tlyoon/teaching/modernphysics.htm

The lecture notes and tutorial solutions are password protected:

The password for the lecture notes is: 011103

The password for the sol. to tut 1 is: 0107033

Please print out the hard copies yourself. In case your have any difficulties to do so, please kindly contact me. Thanks.

Let me make the instruction simple. The following is what I have in my mind:

1)      The students will submit solutions for PROBLEMS (1),(2), (7) and (9) to their respective tutors at least one day before the tutorial class is actually conducted.

2)      Tutors DO NOT need to grad the solutions but merely make a record whether a particular students has submitted his/her solutions. At the end of the semester, these records will be returned to the lecturer in charged for reference purpose.

3)      Tutors please return the solutions to the students on the day of the tutorial class.

4)      Tutors please discuss the above-mentioned tutorial questions (4 of them) with the students. If time permits, please also try to discuss other questions with the students as well.

5)      I would appreciate it if tutors can also offer their voluntary kindness to grad the solutions if requested by those enthusiastic/proactive students. However, this is not a compulsory duty.

6)      Please provide the password of Solution 1

7)

8)

9)

10)

11)

to the students (i.e. 0107033). Ask them to download the complete solutions themselves after the tutorial class (instead of tutors print out the hard copies for them). I am trying to make the students to be  more initiative instead spooning-feeding them .

12)

13)

Please kindly contact me if there is any ambiguity. I appreciate very much your kind assistance. Thanks, again.
